Pulse started because every tool we tried either paged us over nothing or told us about an outage after a customer already had. So we made one that re-checks before it shouts.
A monitoring service that goes down is worse than useless, so Pulse runs its probe fleet across 23 regions on independent providers. If one region loses connectivity, the others keep checking and the data stays honest.
We never edit a status page by hand. The dots you see are computed from the same checks our API exposes — if we cannot prove uptime with data, we do not claim it.
